I want to show off some of my favorite photoshoot locations in Wichita! First up is Botanica – the Wichita Gardens.

Botanica has been around for almost 40 years and takes up 20 acres of the Riverside neighborhood near Downtown Wichita. Its gardens consist of over 4000 plant species throughout the year.

It’s one of my favorite locations because it’s beautiful throughout my whole photography season (March through November usually). The gardens don’t always look the same, which makes it fun to switch up the vibe and keeps the photos I take there looking fresh.

My favorite shooting spots in Botanica include the lily pad pond, the green house, the main fountain, the carousel, and the pergola garden. It’s great because my clients can sort of choose the vibe they’re going for, or we can shoot in all of the spots and they can have a big variety!

Another reason I love Botanica so much, is because it’s a very special place to me. When I was growing up, I would come here with my grandma all the time. She would make me model for her and take photos with her every time we went, so in a way that was sort of the beginning of my photography journey lol. My grandma isn’t with us anymore, but every time I go to Botanica, it just feels right and fills me up with memories of when I was little.

I do charge my clients a small fee to use Botanica as a location, because I do pay the entry for everyone who attends the photoshoot, but honestly, I think it’s totally worth it. I am never disappointed with the photos taken here.
