My clients may or may not know that ya girl is tatted. I love tattoos and I love my tattoo artist! I feel like you don’t see a ton of artists with professional headshots or branding photos so I thought it would be super fun to do some for my friend and tattoo artist, Aubrey.

We went to one of my favorite natural light studios in Wichita, Sunrise Studio. The studio is painted all white with a huge East facing window, so it makes for a perfect bright blank slate.

We started out with a few props like some gloves and her tattoo gun. For branding photoshoots, I like to tell people to just bring every single prop they can think of that relates to their work in any way. The more we have, the more creative we can get.

Aubrey loves plants, so she brought a few from home to add as some background elements which is a really cute way to give off her vibes and show potential clients a little more of her personality.

We did a quick outfit change and got some more fun detail shots. We only rented the studio for an hour, but honestly, you can get so much done in an hour, it’s crazy.

Sunrise Studio has a few different furniture pieces set to the side that you can also use to add a little spice to your pose options.

Aubrey also brought her work tray and some ink bottles so we set that up with her business cards and added a plant (obviously not sanitary for actual tattooing lol).

To finish off the branding shoot, we went to her tattoo studio and I got to photograph her touching up a tattoo on one of her friends. This whole process was so cool and it was so fun to be able to get a little more insight to something I love. Working with other small business owners is another thing that is so fun because even though we have different crafts, it’s fun to relate on a lot of stuff.
